Helga is leaving the building

Summer has been and gone. We didn’t get much time away in the campers as we would have liked. The boys did have one last camping trip before we have put the vans in for the winter months.

It will be time to start lighting the log burner in the workshop very soon.

We are saying goodbye to Helga this week. Helga came to us for some TLC. Initially we were only doing the top half and tidy up inside..

The lower half had been done!! Famous last words!!!

Customer said “Doors didn’t close properly and sliding door used to fall off the track”.

We fitted Helga in for the small amount of work required…Here we go again.

The doors didn’t close properly as the arches that had been replaced previously were in slightly the wrong place which was throwing everything else out.

What was supposed to be the upper repairs and inside tidy up resulted in a full strip down with media blasting and lots of panel replacement, paint, new wiring loom and a new roof. Not such a little job after.

Nothing surprises us when we are stripping down a van anymore.

It has been a pleasure working with Anne and Jon. We know they will have many more years making new memories in Helga.

The workshop has mostly Bays in at the moment but we have a very nice 23 window Samba which we are getting ready for paint, a Porsche, beetle and a RHD Split that has been on hold for a little while.

We have also bought a comer van. I’m not sure what we are going to do with it yet. I think it would make a fantastic catering bus. Watch this space!!
