January 2021 A little late for Happy New Year and all that!!!!

With the lack of shows last year and cancellations announced for some shows this year its going to be a long time before we can get to enjoy the show scene.

The workshop is still as busy which is great for us,  a real positive in what has been a difficult time for many small businesses. We have had some great customers and also had some great phone conversations with potential customers. We had an inquiry from a customer who wanted a van to go into a restaurant in Switzerland the van was to be used in the South American themed section of the restaurant. Customers brief, The van would need to be right hand drive, orange and ready by May. No pressure then!!! Customers then asked if it could be cut into three pieces to save money on shipping and then put together in the restaurant!! If only as easy to build as the lego version!

Just out of the paint booth is a lovely split screen that has had major fabrication, the customer hasn’t chosen an original VW color but has gone for a metallic. This may not be everyone’s cup of tea but we think it looks stunning. The prep work involved in base coat and lacquer is much greater.

The hard work of building can start now. The customer has opted for safaris, pop outs and delux trim. Mechanical build is going to the guys at Fellows Speed shop.

Our 1959 Beetle has moved a step closer with the shell going into paint its always difficult to get your own projects done. We have opted to stay with the original color of Capri Blue. When time allows we can start the build.

looking forward to being able to get out and about soon. Stay safe
