We always have a great mix of vans in the workshop. They all come with the names that the owners have given them.
Gary has come to us after sitting in a garage in South wales for 20 years waiting to get restored. Circumstances changed for the owner forcing sale. It so happens that we had a customer living between Texas and UK that was looking for a project van, preferably RHD. Our customer wanted a van that his family could make their own and be involved in making important decisions. This van ticked all the boxes. It needed work but didn’t resemble a sieve it was RHD which we all know is a difficult find… Within 48 hrs the van was delivered to the workshop. The family arrived to view the new member of their family. Which they decided to call Gary. Gary is going to be a stunner…
We also welcome into the Border Restoration family James. James joined us in February and has settled in really well. He is a great addition to our team with a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of restoration. hes not to bad at making the tea either…We are looking forward to what the future brings.
We had a lovely unexpected visit from some previous customers Dave and Jayne. They had their van Bodhi done with us over 10 years ago now. They were passing on the way to sunny wales and called in for a brew with their young family and Bear the dog…
We have said goodbye to the lovely Maddog splitscreen. He has gone to the guys at Fellows speed shop for all engine and running gear. This van is a real head turner. Maddog will be travelling around Europe Vineyards collecting wine for the customers wine bar in London. I wonder if they needed an apprentice wine taster!!!
Doris is a 1959 RHD Beetle. This a our own personal project. I’m not sure when we are going to fit her into the workshop but looking forward to the end result…
