Sorry it’s been ages since I have posted a blog. It’s really busy in the workshop at the moment which is where most of my time is spent….
I was hoping to be able to bring you some pictures of Jessie the early Bay window but she is having her trimming completed at Retro Retrims. As soon as she is back I will upload pictures..
The VW show season is well and truly under way. We had a trade stand at Camper Jam this year. It was great to see familiar faces in the trade area and meet up with customers past present and hopefully future.
We usually take a van that is finished and all shiny and new. This year we decided to step out of the box. We took a van that is in need of full restoration. The van has come to us from Jersey where an MOT is not required. How this van was driven to us from the port I don’t know. The chassis legs are almost non existent. The plan for this late Bay is to fully restore her back to her original colour and condition… This may be a long one so watch this space.
Other exciting projects in the workshop are
1961 RHD in need of major restoration. This is going to be stunning when complete and also going back to original colour.
1963 Samba LHD this is going to be a real head turner. We have already completed most of the fabrication and are heading into prep for paint stage.
1975 Beetle in for a full restoration
Along with some lovely Bay windows in stages of works…
The picture below is of the underside of The Samba having undercoat applied.
