We all new this was going to be a major restoration but can say that we are nearing the end.
Since the last update we now have a painted Jessie.
Jessie’s owners have chosen to go back to her original colour. Sierra Yellow L 11h painted up to gutters with inside and the roof painted L90D Pastel white.
Once a van is painted we all get really excited but there is still a lot of work to be done.
Although the shell has been painted we still have all cab doors, sliding door, tailgate, engine lid, track covers, petrol flap to paint.
We are currently sorting through the boxes of parts that came off Jessie when she first came in and was stripped to bare shell.
Lots of nuts and bolts were seized, indicator housing and lenses brittle, handles and mirrors pitted.
All doors mechanisms and strike plates are cleaned before being replaced. It is one of the things that drives me crazy when they are painted over….see before and after……
