Late 2018 we said “Goodbye” to Sybil. Looking fantastic painted in Kawasaki green. Sybil arrived originally as a panel van fully stripped of everything. This always makes the re-build of any van 100% harder. It’s always the little parts that vanish without trace…
Sybil left us and went to Pete and Ange @ Bromsgrove Interiors then Adrian @All Things Timber..
The workshop is as busy as always… never a dull moment!!!
We have a 1965 Split screen that is almost complete and in final build. This van came to us after being sold by owner who moved abroad. It was in final primer having had restoration work completed by another company. From a distance it looked like all the hard work hard been done. Unfortunately this van was hiding a multitude of issues, mainly hidden with cardboard and filler. Everything that had been botched was removed and work started again. New sills, arches, floors, doors and the list goes on… The work that previous company had done to hide these issues and fill over is shocking. This van’s description when sold was “ready for paint”. Any paint applied to this van would have fallen off in a couple of years!!! The new owners of this beautiful bus have got some massive plans. Visiting the wine regions of France, buying wine for their London wine bar being one.
This is what we found hidden by filler or panels…
Photos of finished van coming soon
