Paint ……Sea Blue and Cumulus White

This van came to us having been at a previous garage so it was already stripped to a bare shell and had been chemicaly dipped…

There was quite heavy corrosion in roof sections which were replaced along with sills, floors, and chassis repairs just for starters…

Our customer wanted the van to go back to an original VW colour so he chose Sea Blue/Cumulus White. I love this blue it takes on different shades depending on the light.

It’s always difficult when we haven’t stripped the van down when it comes to rebuilding. There were lots of parts missing. It was a bit of a head scratcher searching through all the boxes and bags of bits…

Originally our customer had bought the Samba as part of a business venture but plans changed along the way due to other work/time commitments so after restoration was complete Ricky D headed off to Goodwood Revival to be sold at auction.
