About Border Restoration

We are a small family run business specialising in classic VW restoration, repairs or modification in our fully equipped workshop. We know that your van is an important part of the family and we want you to feel as if you are part of the restoration. We stay in close contact keeping you posted on updates and progress encouraging site visits by appointment. This is a good way to explain what has been done and what is left to do and explain where your money has been spent.

We have many years’ experience in classic restoration. As we specialise in vans and work with them day in and out we have come across vans that require a major restoration where the chassis is almost non-existent requiring major fabrication to something not quite as drastic and getting a van through MOT.

All work is photographed at various stages as a history of your restoration.

We strongly believe in doing a job right the first time, we take pride in what we do and we love seeing the vans through the different stages whether it’s stock or custom we can cater for all your needs.

We believe in treating customers the way we would expect to be treated ourselves.

Media blasting section

We have an in house fully enclosed blast facility where the vans are media blasted to remove the majority of paint and rust. All the running gear is removed and the vans are placed onto a roll frame so all of the underside can be cleaned thoroughly… If there is any corrosion then the blast room will uncover it. Not all of the vans have this type of media blasting as it can distort the large panels like the roof and centres of the doors and side panels.

There are different types of media can be used depending on the job required.
